Private Pharmacist-Led Assessment, Testing & Supplementation
At PharmacyExprezz, we offer a private Vitamin D service that includes a mandatory rapid Vitamin D blood test, followed by professional pharmacist assessment and individualised supplementation using oral Vitamin D tablets or injectable Vitamin D, where clinically appropriate.
This service is delivered as a private consultation and is not part of NHS care.
Step 1: Compulsory Vitamin D Rapid Test
All patients accessing this service must first undergo a Vitamin D rapid blood test.
The test:
-
Is performed during your appointment
-
Provides an indication of Vitamin D levels
-
Helps determine whether supplementation may be appropriate
Supplementation (tablet or injection) is not provided without testing.
Step 2: Pharmacist Clinical Assessment
Following the test, a GPhC-registered pharmacist will:
-
Review your test result
-
Take a relevant medical and medication history
-
Assess suitability for Vitamin D supplementation
-
Discuss appropriate supplementation options
Clinical judgement is used at all times.
If supplementation is not appropriate, this will be explained clearly.
Step 3: Vitamin D Supplementation Options
Depending on the test result and clinical assessment, supplementation may include:
Oral Vitamin D Tablets
-
Provided where suitable based on Vitamin D level and individual factors
-
Dosing advice is given in line with UK clinical guidance
Vitamin D Injection
-
Considered where clinically appropriate following assessment
-
Administered by a qualified healthcare professional
-
Provided only after informed consent
Supplementation is not guaranteed and is not provided without clinical approval.
